Seung Wook Kim (김승욱)
Principal Investigator
Seung Wook Kim is currently a Senior Research Scientist at NVIDIA, where he works on generative models for simulation and physical AI. He will join the Kim Jaechul Graduate School of AI, KAIST as an Assistant Professor, starting Fall 2026.
He received his PhD from the University of Toronto, advised by Prof. Sanja Fidler, along with his MSc and BSc from the same university. His research spans world models and neural simulation (GameGAN, DriveGAN, Cosmos, OmniDreams), video and 3D/4D generation (Video LDM, NeuralField-LDM, Align Your Gaussians), and the representations underlying them — recognized at conferences such as CVPR, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICCV, and SIGGRAPH.
He is driven by a simple question: how do we build models that don't just generate pictures of the world, but actually understand how it works?
